EmpresaProdiel Chairman, Ángel Haro, was given the Emerging Entrepreneur award at the 23rd edition of the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, for 2018, by consultancy firm Ernst & Young (EY) at the event held yesterday at the Real Fábrica de Tapices venue in Madrid. Haro entered the shortlist for the national award for Spain after having been chosen as a finalist in November last year, representing the geographical region of Andalusia and Extremadura. At the ceremony, which welcomed the Minister for Infrastructure and Development, José Luis Ábalos, the following awards were also presented: Entrepreneur Of The Year, which went to Iñaki Velasco, founder and CEO of Gescrap; the Innovation Award, to Francisco Pino and Iñaki Arbulu, R&D Director for Marine Instruments and CEO of Grupo Arbulu (the group containing Marine Instruments); the Internationalisation Award, to Blanca Erum and Coral Erum, both CEOs of Grupo Erum; and the Family Business Award, to José Francisco Adell, CEO of Grupo Julià. The list of candidates also included Salvador Ramón (manager of Frime Holding), Albert Campabadal (Chairman of Grupo Sifu), José Vicente López (CEO of Grupo Damel), Amid Achi (Executive Chairman of Grupo Número 1), Carlos Calero (General Manager and CEO of Vincci Hoteles), Isabel Martínez (Chairwoman of Grupo Panstar), Carlos Moro (Chairman of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera), Iñaki Velasco (founder and CEO of Gescrap) and Basilio Garcia (CEO of Calzados Hergar). These prizes aim to give social and institutional backing to entrepreneurial business owners, developers and managers of their own businesses, who contribute to creating wealth and employment in Spain.
